Presentation Information

Timing

  • Each presentation will be 25 minutes including questions
    • Chairs will provide a 5 minute warning
    • Chairs will stop presenters/questions after 25 minutes

Information for New Presenters

  • Aim for 15 to 20 slides (maximum)
  • Time your presentation to take around 20 minutes
  • Ensure your slides are readable:
    • Limit the amount of text
    • Ensure all fonts are large enough
    • Make careful colour choices (e.g. avoid light yellow on a white background)

Presentation Equipment

  • You may use your own laptop.
  • A laptop with the following software will also be provided.
    • Microsoft PowerPoint 2007
    • Adobe Acrobat Reader version 9
    • Note: In order to limit the potential spread of computer viruses amoungst delgates, transferring presentations via CD is preferable than using memory sticks.
  • Projector

Pre-Presentation

  • During the break prior to your session, ensure you have
    • Reported to the session chair
    • Prepared your presentation, either:
      • Upload your presentation onto the PC provided (using a CD or USB memory stick)
      • Test that your own portable PC works on the system

Session Chairs

  • Ensure your session runs strictly on schedule
    • Arrive early
    • Ensure all presentations preloaded before the session begins.
    • Maximum 25 minutes per presentation. Give a 5 minute remaining warning.
    • If you have a missing Presenter, keep to the schedule, do not re-arrange slots, keep the unfilled slot empty.
